Always use one the following qualified GMDs for sound recordings in the CCS catalog. Note that CCS local practice is different from AACR2R 1.1C1.

As of February 11, 2015, this change has been approved in concept by the SCRAP committee, but the exact wording is still being adjusted.
Please follow the changed rule(s). Please send any feedback to SCRAP.

Always use one the following qualified GMDs for sound recordings in the CCS catalog, except do not add a GMD to records for audio CDs that are cataloged according to RDA.[1] Note that CCS local practice is different from AACR2R 1.1C1.

[sound recording (Cassette)]
[sound recording (CD)]
[sound recording (Disc)] (for vinyl records)
[sound recording (MP3)]
[electronic resource (eAudiobook)]
[electronic resource (Playaway)]
[electronic resource (Playaway Bookpack)]

Do not combine qualifiers, such as [sound recording (CD)(DVD)] for a CD with accompanying DVD.

When adding a GMD qualifier in records with non-Latin text in 880 fields, be sure to edit the GMD field in the corresponding 880 field, too.
