GMD qualifiers for sound recordings

DO NOT FOLLOW THESE RULES. The rules on this page have been abolished or are obsolete, but are kept in the manual for historical purposes.

For sound recordings cataloged according to AACR2, use one the following GMDs in the CCS catalog. Do not add a GMD to records for CDs or Playaways that are cataloged according to RDA. Do not combine qualifiers, such as [sound recording (CD)(DVD)] for a CD with accompanying DVD.

If the record has the proper GMD equivalent fields, the qualifier may be omitted, as in the following. Note: When editing a GMD qualifier in records with non-Latin text in 880 fields, also be sure to edit the GMD field in the corresponding 880 field.
