Deleting local holdings records from WorldCat

From CCS Cataloging Manual

While our holdings are added and deleted by OHM, some older records in WorldCat may have item specific information called local holdings records (LHRs) that may have been previously added to records in OCLC. Instructions for manually deleting LHRs can be found on the OCLC website at Delete LHRs.

OCLC can also work with libraries to delete them during a Streamlined WorldCat Holdings Update project at no extra charge. CCS staff worked with OHM and OCLC to do a streamlined holdings update in 2022. However, if you feel that your library's holdings have become out of date or you need to delete LHRs in bulk, CCS staff can work with you and OCLC on a streamlined holdings update project. Information on the Streamlined Holdings Update can be found at: Streamlined holdings update FAQ. Please contact the helpdesk if you would like to discuss this option.
