    Listserv Guidelines

    The CCS listservs provide a forum for sharing news, information and educational opportunities relevant to CCS members. To ensure a positive experience for all members, CCS has established guidelines for listserv participation. By joining and using a CCS listserv, you agree that you have read and will follow these rules and guidelines. CCS reserves the right to remove any subscriber who violates these rules. 

    The Rules 

    • Respect others. Represent your library in a courteous and professional manner. 
    • Respect the purpose of the community. Keep listserv communications relevant to the CCS community at large. 
    • Use the lists to share successes, challenges, learning opportunities, constructive feedback, and questions. Be constructive, polite, and supportive.  
    • Respect intellectual property. Post content that you have personally created or have permission to use and have properly attributed to the content creator. 
    • Use caution when discussing products. Information posted on the lists is available for all to see, and comments are subject to libel, slander, and antitrust laws.  
    • All defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials are strictly prohibited.  

    General Etiquette 

    • Clearly and concisely state the topic of your comments in the subject line. This allows members to respond appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject. 
    • Only post messages to the most appropriate lists. This helps ensure all messages receive the best response by eliminating "noise." 
    • Send communications meant for individuals or specific libraries directly, rather than the entire list. 
    • Do not send support messages, such as “remove me from the list,” to the group. Instead, email help@ccslib.org for assistance or update your settings at https://lists.ccslib.org/wws/home.
